The great city of Toronto is where I call home and currently practice the art and craft of Dentistry.
As a dentist it only seems natural to admit that I find smiles to be truly fascinating. On a daily basis I am presented with the challenge to create, enhance or restore the smiles of my patients. Smile design is as much an art as it is a science. In order to master my craft, I have spent countless hours reading literature and have attended numerous conferences and courses.
The discipline of Cosmetic Dentistry has developed principles defining an 'ideal' smile. I consider these "rules" more as guidelines which I adapt and customized to each and every patient, creating a unique and personal smile. It is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and for this reason I encourage patients to be heavily involved with the smile design process. This journey I embark on with my patients is something that they are extremely excited and thankful for. However, at the end of the treatment I insist that the pleasure is all mine. Each and every one of my patients have entrusted me with something as important as their smile and the gift of showcasing their brand new smile to the world.
As a dentist, it is easy to get caught up in creating the "perfect" smile. But, it is important to understand that all smiles are beautiful and an “ideal smile” is only a concept. What makes a smile meaningful is the emotions behind it, regardless of the shape, shade and position of the pearly whites. The beauty behind a smile is that it is a universal expression of happiness and joy that transcends cultural boundaries and language barriers. It uplifts people's spirits during tough times and laughter is said to be capable of healing the soul.
